Composite Score
Plus500 scores 7.7 / 10 overall.
About Plus500
Six Technion graduates founded the company in Israel in 2008, and it still runs its operations from Haifa. Its parent, Plus500 Ltd, joined the London Stock Exchange in 2013 under the ticker PLUS and now sits in the FTSE 250. For 2025 it reported $792.4 million in revenue and 242,440 active customers, and in the first half of 2026 revenue rose 12% to $462.9 million. Outside the US, the product is CFDs on shares, indices, forex, commodities, crypto, options, and ETFs. US residents, by contrast, can’t trade CFDs here at all. Instead, they use us.plus500.com, which offers futures, options on futures, and, since 2026, prediction markets.
Regulation Status
The broker doesn’t hold one license, it holds a network of them. Which one protects you depends on where you live. A UK client contracts with Plus500UK Ltd and falls under the FCA, while an EU client deals with Plus500CY Ltd under CySEC. Other regions are covered by further subsidiaries, from Singapore and Dubai to the Seychelles.
Behind the subsidiaries sits a publicly listed parent that publishes audited accounts twice a year. For a broker, that is a strong trust signal. A listed company has shareholders, auditors, and stock exchange disclosure rules watching it, on top of financial regulators. Moreover, the broker’s own FAQ states that clients can’t lose more than the money in their account, thanks to negative balance protection enforced through automatic margin calls.
The record isn’t spotless, and a fair review should say so. In 2015, under an FCA-driven anti-money laundering review, Plus500UK froze its UK accounts, and it only resumed onboarding new UK clients in January 2016. Two years later, in 2017, the company paid €550,000 to Belgium’s FSMA over its CFD offering and advertising, while denying wrongdoing. More recently, an Australian class action filed in 2023 is still going through the courts. Taken together, they help explain why the brand divides opinion among traders.

Account Types & Trading Conditions
| Account | Min. Deposit | Max. Leverage | Spread | Commission |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CFD Account | €100 | 1:300 | Variable | €0 |
The broker runs a single CFD account instead of tiers like Silver or Gold. You can start with a minimum deposit of €100, though it varies by payment method. There’s no commission on trades. Instead, the broker earns from a variable spread, which you can check for each instrument inside the platform, along with its margin. Leverage on forex reaches up to 1:300 for the India site, and a free demo account lets you practice first. The currency fee is the cost most traders overlook. Say your account is in US dollars and you close a trade on a euro-denominated index for a net $1,000 gain. In that case, up to $7 goes to conversion. On small accounts trading mostly foreign instruments, that adds up over a year. Fortunately, the inactivity fee is easy to avoid, since logging in once every three months resets the clock.
Trading Platforms
The company builds its own software instead of licensing MetaTrader 4 or 5. You can trade through the browser-based WebTrader or the iOS and Android apps, and both share the same layout. Beyond basic order entry, the platform offers more than 100 technical indicators, price alerts, an economic calendar, and +Insights, a feed showing what other clients on the platform are trading. On the risk side, you get free stop-loss, take-profit, and trailing stops, plus a guaranteed stop on selected instruments. The trade-off is flexibility. Without MetaTrader, you can’t run expert advisors or custom automated strategies.
Tradeable Assets
On the India site, the CFD menu covers seven asset groups: shares, indices, forex, commodities, cryptocurrencies, options, and ETFs. What's missing matters as much as what's there. You can't buy real shares, bonds, or mutual funds through this account, because every position is a contract for difference on the price.
Deposit & Withdrawal Methods
The India site lists Visa, Mastercard, and bank transfer for funding. The broker doesn’t charge for deposits or withdrawals, although your card issuer or bank may apply its own international or conversion fees. Every payment must come from an account in your own name; corporate cards and third-party payers are refused.
Cash-outs follow a predictable path. First, the broker runs security checks, which normally take 1 to 3 business days. After that, bank transfers arrive within 5 to 7 business days, while card refunds follow your bank’s own timeline. Where possible, money returns to the method that funded the account, so a card deposit is refunded to that card first. One detail is worth knowing, each method has a minimum withdrawal amount, displayed on the withdrawal screen, and requests below it may be charged.
Customer Support
Help comes through live chat with human agents, email via the contact page, and a 24/7 FAQ center. There’s no phone line listed on the India site. Premium Service clients get a dedicated client manager on top of the standard channels.
Complaint History
Our database currently holds 0 Report a Broker submissions for this broker (checked October, 2026). That gives a neutral Complaint Record score of 5.0, which reflects a lack of data rather than a perfect record. If you’ve had a problem here, a report helps keep this score honest.
Withdrawal Test Notes
Brokers Alerts requested a $300 withdrawal from a funded live account. The funds were paid out and reached us, and the request went through without any dispute or extra conditions.

Pros & Cons
Pros
- A London-listed, FTSE 250 parent that publishes audited results
- 17 licenses, including the FCA, CySEC, ASIC, and MAS
- Our $300 test withdrawal was paid out
- No commissions and no deposit or withdrawal fees
- Negative balance protection and a guaranteed stop option
Cons
- Spreads aren't published outside the platform
- CFDs only outside the US, so there's no real share ownership
- No MetaTrader and no automated trading
- Up to 0.7% currency conversion fee and a $10 monthly inactivity charge
Where This Broker Falls Short
Two things hold the number back. Spreads appear only inside the platform, so a prospective client can't compare costs before signing up. In addition, the Complaint Record sits at a neutral 5.0 simply because our own reporting database has no Plus500 cases yet.
Verdict
FAQ
Is Plus500 legit?
Yes. Plus500 Ltd is listed on the London Stock Exchange, sits in the FTSE 250, and runs subsidiaries licensed by regulators including the FCA (FRN 509909), CySEC (250/14), and ASIC (AFSL 417727).
Does Plus500 pay out?
In our test, yes. We withdrew $300 and received it. Plus500 says requests take 1 to 3 business days to process, with bank transfers then arriving in 5 to 7 business days.
Is Plus500 legal in the US?
Plus500’s CFD platform isn’t available to US residents. Instead, Americans can trade futures and options on futures through Plus500US Financial Services LLC, a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant and NFA member.
